We hope everyone has had a restful half-term. Our students sure have returned motivated and ready to go!
It’s going to be an exciting term full of new experiences and knowledge. Here are some of the things our students will be focusing on this term:
DT – Planters & Bird Boxes
With spring (hopefully) arriving soon our students will have a go at making bird boxes and planters, and hopefully even get some plants growing! Maybe they can even plant some herbs for the kitchen!
ART – Monet
Our students will immerse themselves in the world and works of impressionist painter Claude Monet. They will get a closer look at his paintings, create their own art and re-imagine some of his most famous works in their own way.
IT – Game Development & Video Editing
Our students that started developing their own games using RPGMaker last term will get a chance to continue their projects. Alongside that our students will use a greenscreen and video editing software to.
PHSE – Relationships
This term’s PHSE topic focuses on relationships, consent and sexuality. Our students will learn about healthy behaviour in relationships, how to recognise red flags, make safe choices for themselves and others and develop a set of and stand up for their own values.
ASDAN
As we before we will keep delivering and supporting our students with their chosen ASDAN qualifications. Our students continue their Computing, FoodWise, Beauty and Creative Arts courses.
Many of our students have persevered through many of the challenges in the ASDAN course books and we hope the new students will enjoy them just as much!
OTHER TOPICS AND INTERESTS
On top of our “big” topics our students will continue to engage in some functional Maths and English skills, but where we are able to, we will also continue to support them with their personal interests such as physics, psychology, coding, history and so many more!
