Transitions to college can be daunting for many and the changes can raise anxiety and ultimately lead to students dropping out or not even starting their placements. Confidence and strategic transitions to college placements are key, this is why SB Mentoring are offering transition support to college. These basic skills can be markers in their preparation for making the adulthood journey ultimately more enjoyable, mentally and physically.

In preparation, we will encourage students to build on relationships, identify current interests and motivations, help students in choosing a suitable college course, and encourage them to be familiar with the college environment. We will encourage students to apply for college courses based on their interests and skills and we will prepare them for the interview process.

Students will also be encouraged to understand the skills needed to identify challenging situations and behaviours in a college environment.

Post 16 can be offered on-site at provision or as an outreach package.
