The FRANK service was established in 2003 by the Department of Health as an anti-drug advisory service.
Their website provides comprehensive information about a variety of legal and illegal drugs as well as advice on peer pressure.
The “Drugs A-Z” section offers information on over 100 drugs including those not commonly in the media “spotlight”. Each individual drug profile gives an overview of the effects on the body, how long the effects last and what the potential consequences of taking it are. This includes lasting effects on the body, laws and legal consequences and potential complications of mixing drugs.
Their “News” section includes a variety of recent developments, research and changes in legislation.
The FRANK website also includes help and advice sections that offer advice on what to do in emergency situations, how to start a conversation with a child or friend you are concerned about and what drug and alcohol treatment can look like.
In addition to that FRANK also offers a confidential telephone helpline and text and email service to educate and support anyone affected or worried.
