I would tell you about all the fabulous things we’ve done here at SB this week, but truth is we’ve barely been here! Our students have been working so hard this term, this week we took our students on some amazing trips!
Have a look at some highlights here:
On Monday and Wednesday our students got a chance to have a look at the wonderful Christmas display at Whitehall Garden Center in Lacock. The students had a great time looking at all the ornaments and decorations, having a look at the animals and of course enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate!
On Friday we took some students off to Bristol to an immersive art experience called “Wake the tiger” https://www.wakethetiger.com/ this is the largest immersive art experience and the world’s first amazement® park; a hyper-reality, self-guided voyage of discovery through kaleidoscopic realms of the imagination.
Wake The Tiger’s out-of-this-world experience is a self-guided, walk-through labyrinth of exploration which begins in an abandoned paint factory before journeying into the Dream Factory, and finally transcending to the OUTERverse. Every student enjoyed exploring the park.
Back in the realms of SB Mentoring the students still immersed themselves into their learning with English, maths, AsDAN and DT all being explored and taught. In Foodwise students created their own posters for hand-washing, in maths they looked at past GCSE papers and further expanding their understanding and demonstrating how to resolve equations. DT showed excellent resilience when using new tools and completing all our amazing items in preparation for the Christmas stalls on our open day. And not stopping their some students helped fix one of the computers, changing the partition table of the hard drive from MBR to GPT to allow it to have windows installed onto it.
