Weekly Highlights

Although we were melting by the end of the week it’s been a great and productive one nonetheless!

A few of our students have taken to not just appreciating nature but also capturing it! Whether it’s getting right up close to watch and photograph birds or to brave the confusing world of exposure settings, our students are putting in a lot of effort to capture the world around them!

This week our students did absolutely amazing with their Maths and English functional skills. They have really embraced it and worked so hard to improve their skills at their respective levels. Great work everyone!

Art lessons continued with making beautiful henna and tattoo designs and trying out temporary tattoo pens on staff!

While cooking is really fun, it is also incredibly important to know the theory behind it! This week our students focused on our 5-a-day, why we need them and what that actually means. They also had a look at the food groups and how we can create a balanced diet!

This week some of our students continued creating custom speakers and learned all about the importance of planning and prototyping.
They created cardboard test speakers to make sure everything works without wasting materials. It takes some patience but it’ll pay off!

Off-site our outreach students had a great week, too! A picnic in the sunshine and running into a TV set in a Waitrose were only some of the highlights of this week! While out and about our outreach students get a chance to have lovely conversations and practise valuable life skills… and enjoy the sunshine of course!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
