It’s the final term of the school year and our students are ready! Week 1 they already wowed us with their motivation, engagement and ideas and we cannot wait to see what Term 6 brings!
It may only be the first week back but our students got started on their Maths and English topics for this term with incredible motivation!
HK wrote a lovely paragraph inspired by flowers, RMB fearlessly started “the part of Maths that is all just letters” and several students continued work on their Functional Skills lessons!

After a while of Marion visiting him for outreach this week DC was finally able to come and visit us at the unit for a half-day! We were so excited to welcome you and we hope you had an awesome day making delicious flapjacks and trying out the laser cutter!
Going new places and trying new things can be daunting and we’re so proud you were able to come to SB!

Art lessons this term will have a look at Henna, how it is used in different cultures and how it works!
Students started this week by making a mind-map of some information to build on this term!
Game of the Week: Reverse Pictionary!
Put your communication AND drawing skills to the test with a twist on the classic.
Instead of one person knowing the word and drawing it, one person knows the word and describes to the artist how they are meant to draw it (e.g. “draw a horizontal line”, “add a semi-circle on top.”). It may sound easy but trying to tell someone exactly how to draw a hippo is harder than you think!
We hope you have a relaxing weekend and we’ll see you next week!
