We began today’s session by looking back at last week’s work and using the green screen to capture MM explaining what he had already achieved in his game. This reflective start set the tone for a really strong and productive session.

Explaining Code with Confidence

Max confidently talked through the different program blocks he had used, clearly explaining how they work together. His ability to articulate his thinking showed a strong understanding of the underlying coding concepts and how individual elements combine to create gameplay.

Improving Game Logic and Visuals

Building on this reflection, MM then added new code to make the coins disappear when collected, improving the overall gameplay logic. He also animated the coins by adding multiple frames, which made the game feel more polished, engaging, and professional. These enhancements showed thoughtful attention to both function and player experience.

Reflection on Progress

This was a really strong session for MM. His confidence in explaining his own work, followed by his ability to extend it with new features, highlights how well he has grasped core coding concepts. Using reflection to guide the next steps is a powerful skill, and MM is using it brilliantly to drive his progress forward.
