Today marked a huge milestone in AC’s project — we finally got to see the animatronic eyes working! It was a session filled with problem-solving, persistence, and a very satisfying payoff at the end.
Troubleshooting with Focus and Confidence
Before the eyes could come to life, AC worked methodically through several fault-finding challenges. He stayed calm, focused, and systematic throughout the process, carefully testing and checking each part of the setup. Importantly, he was able to reflect on the build and identify areas where the project could have been improved — a strong sign of growing technical maturity.
Solving the Problem
One of the key issues turned out to be battery-related. Once this was identified and resolved, the system immediately began behaving as expected. This moment highlighted the value of patient troubleshooting and reinforced the importance of power management in electronic projects.
Programming Movement and Bringing the Project to Life
With the hardware issues resolved, AC moved on to programming a sequence of movements using the Pololu controller. Seeing the eyes move for the first time was a fantastic moment and a clear reward for his persistence, technical skill, and attention to detail.
Reflection on Progress
This was a fantastic session for AC. His structured approach to troubleshooting, combined with his ability to learn from challenges, really stood out. Watching the animatronic eyes finally come to life was a brilliant milestone and a testament to his hard work and determination.
