The main task today involved using mates in Onshape to bring together the 3D pieces TE had previously designed into a complete Soma cube. Through this, he learned how different mates work — including parallel, revolute (rotational), and alignment tools — all essential for creating accurate and functional 3D assemblies.
Reflection on Progress
This was a really strong session for TE. He handled a fairly advanced concept in 3D design with both confidence and curiosity. Seeing his Soma cube come together in assembly mode was not only satisfying but also a clear sign of how far his technical skills have come.
