Sometimes the most meaningful moments come from unexpected encounters.
Last week, we had the pleasure of meeting a kind gentleman, Tony, who stopped by after learning about the work we do with young people. During our conversation, he shared his own journey of growing up with learning difficulties and ADHD, and the challenges he faced along the way. Despite those obstacles, he went on to build a successful construction business through determination, hard work, and resilience.
Unfortunately, an accident later forced him to take some time away from work, but his positive outlook and willingness to share his experiences were truly inspiring. He spoke warmly about our provision and told us how much he wished something similar had been available when he was younger.
This week, he returned with an unexpected surprise.
While clearing out one of his garages, he had gathered together a selection of tools and materials that he thought could be useful for our students. His generous donation included a jigsaw, planer, screws, primer, and a variety of other workshop essentials that will undoubtedly support many future projects.
These tools will provide valuable opportunities for our students to develop practical skills, gain confidence, and bring their ideas to life. Donations like these make a real difference, helping us continue to create meaningful learning experiences for the young people we support.
