Last Term at SB

It’s been a great term leading up to the Easter break so here are some great highlights, amazing achievements and fun lessons from the last 5 weeks:

With Easter just around the corner our creative students had a great time engaging in many Easter-themed activities.
Just have a look for yourself:

With AI becoming more and more prominent in everyday life, three of our students took on the challenge to understand it better.
Over four lessons they learned what Artificial Intelligence is, how machine learning enables them to imitate intelligence and how those models can be used and misused.
We had some really engaging discussions and it was great to see how keen they were to get a deeper understanding of how it works!

This term for PSHE a lot of our students were speaking about tobacco, alcohol, drugs and wellbeing. As part of this L did a fantastic podcast-style recording about the effects of smoking on the body, RMB really applied herself and completed 3 full challenges and TE and DS worked really hard to create posters and leaflets.

While it is always lovely to celebrate academic work and achievements it is also so important to us to highlight great personal growth:
This term many of our students have really embraced their Thrive sessions, have been able to talk about their experiences and emotions and accept support, which can be incredibly difficult.
We are so proud of all of our students for taking such an active role in their learning and wellbeing. You are amazing!

When I asked Ian if he had any projects that stood out to him this term, he found it impossible to choose!
Planters of all shapes and sizes, lights, soldering, RC cars and life size cartoon models are only some of the amazing things that were started, worked on and/or finished in our DT area.

Massive congratulations to AF who completed his Functional Skills Maths exam.
He worked really hard and felt confident to complete his exam, we’ll get the results in just a few weeks!
This makes him the first student to complete an exam on site right here at SB.
We’re looking forward to many more!

Many of our students have been working really hard on their Functional Skills like AC and TE, who have been smashing it lesson after lesson!

It would be impossible to highlight every little moment, every bit of progress and every achievement, because there are simply too many

Term after term our students amaze us with their hard work, perseverance and positive attitude.
We’re so proud of all of you!

Have an amazing Easter break and we’ll see you back in two weeks!
