Weekly Highlights

New year, new term, new students, new ideas, new challenges! This first week back we had a great time catching up with our returning students, meeting new students and starting 2026 off right!

Most days last week the kitchen was filled with one of the most pleasant smells known to man: Freshly baked bread!
Our students made delicious bread. Plain, pumpkin, honey or frog-shaped, every day there was a new delicious bread to try.

When it’s dark outside we have to bring the light inside!
Two of our students experimented with the camera shutter speed to create awesome “light paintings” using nothing but long exposure and some string lights!

For PSHE this term our new students are starting off with the module on emotional wellbeing. It’s a good introduction to the PSHE ASDAN course and full of useful information and tips and tricks to support themselves and others!
Our students who have been with us for a while and have completed that module are focusing on the effects and risks of alcohol this term.

With the functional skills lessons we are using, jumping straight in where our students left off is easy! Many students immediately jumped back into their Maths and English and continued their learning.

To start the new year some of our students have spent their art lessons thinking about new beginnings, what that means to them and associated symbolism. Whether it’s new years resolutions, academic or personal goals, we truly wish our students all the success they are aiming for and more!

We cannot wait to see all the awesome things this term will bring!
