Last week our students experimented, created and learned all sorts of things! Have a look at some of last week’s highlights here:
You often hear that children play too many video games, but hardly anyone talks about the educational value of creating them! Using patience, creativity, programming skills and attention to detail are absolutely essential, when making their own vision come to life!
While learning about how something works is interesting, it’s even better to just figure it out yourself! This week AF carried out a short experiment he designed to figure out how to create different coloured liquid layers. Using oil, vinegar, water and lemon juice already worked well but he has some good ideas how to improve on it next time…

If you have followed us for a while you will have seen this tree design a few times now! But why do we keep bringing this back to work on with new students?
This project doesn’t just look great but also provides students with varying degrees of confidence and experience with DT an opportunity to try out a variety of machines and techniques while practising proper workshop safety!

Several of our students are working on an ASDAN short course in construction. This course provides them with essential information about the industry and proper practice and safety combined with some hands-on practical experience. Last lesson they worked on using the 3-4-5 rule to create a perfect right angle.
Sometimes science can taste good… or at least sour. Some students this week had a look at the reaction of lemon juice and baking soda, using the chemical reaction to create fizzy lemonade. They thought it was fun but agreed to probably stick with store-bought lemonade in the future!
And that concludes another great week!
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for more information about the Christmas Fair coming up!
